Gillingham captain Adam Barrett insists the team won’t be letting Tuesday night’s hiccup derail their promotion charge.

The 2-1 defeat at Torquay was only Gillingham’s second League 2 reverse of the season but they get an immediate chance to bounce back at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

"We’ve been on a fantastic run and we don’t want to be downbeat," said Barrett. "We’ve had a great start to the season but we are now looking forward to Wimbledon.

"We’ve sold our full allocation of tickets and we will go there full of confidence. We are going for the three points.

"The good thing with football is that you can bounce back. That’s what we want to do. That’s what good teams do.

"There is a long way to go but we want to put things right on Saturday."

Was Tuesday's defeat just a blip? Have your say below.
