Steve Allen has been appointed as Gillingham’s new physiotherapist.

The Gills will also be using Javed Mughal on a consultancy basis.

Mughal was previously at the Gills as physio during the Damien Richardson era and he recommended Allen to new manager Andy Hessenthaler.

Gills boss Hessenthaler said: "He (Allen) does a lot of work on indoor cricket and he is good with the rehab side.

"The good thing is I’ve got Jav as a consultant as well. He’s got a clinic in Rainham, Steve lives five minutes from the ground and it’s a perfect scenario for us."
