Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler was pleased with his side’s performance at the weekend but knows improvements must be made at both ends of the pitch.

Hessenthaler’s side started the month with defeat at AFC Wimbledon and a home loss against Barnet in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. On Saturday they drew 1-1 with Port Vale.
