Gillingham midfielder Danny Jackman has been made available for transfer.

The 28-year-old’s name was circulated to all League 1, League 2 and Blue Square Bet clubs earlier this week.

Jackman is in his second spell at the Gills, after signing from Northampton in 2007.

His previous spell was between 2005 and 2007 and the former Aston Villa trainee has made 120 appearances for the club.

Jackman’s return to Priestfield has been blighted by injury and last season he was restricted to just 17 games.

He faces strong competition in midfield this season, with Charlie Lee and Lewis Montrose arriving to battle for a berth in the centre of the pitch, along with the likes of Danny Spiller, Curtis Weston, Jack Payne and youngster Dean Rance.

Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler declined to comment on Jackman’s situation.

Would you be happy to see Jackson leave Gills? Comment below.
