Gillingham are waiting on international clearance before knowing if they can field new signing Stanley Aborah against Cheltenham on Saturday.

Aborah (pictured) has agreed a month to month deal with the Gills after impressing again during the midweek friendly at Faversham.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who has played in the Champions League for Ajax, will be included in the squad on Saturday if the Gills get the all-clear from the Football Association.

Gills manager Andy Hessenthaler has already indicated that he could be the right player to unlock the Cheltenham defence if they are struggling to break the visitors down.

Hessenthaler said: “It could be a tight game on Saturday and I believe that Cheltenham could come and play one up front and try and frustrate us. They have seen how we try and play football at home and they may come to frustrated.

“It might need someone like Stanley to come on and hopefully open the door to win the game. He is that type of player and that’s what excited me about him.”
