Bruce Inkango netted the only goal of the game in Gillingham’s friendly match with Dagenham on Friday morning.

Neither team had a game at the weekend due to FA Cup first round elimination.

Gillingham gave valuable minutes to Simon King and Danny Jackman, who has recently recovered from injury, as well as parading several trialists.

Former Tottenham pair Takura Mtandari and Joe Martin, Ghanaian Gabriel Edwards-Tawiaih and Justin Hay all played some part in the match.

Stefan Payne hit the bar for the Gills against John Still’s League 1 side and it was Hay’s long-range effort that led to the only goal, which was turned onto the bar by the keeper and chested home by Frenchman Inkango (pictured).
