Girl crash victim cut free

A 14-yearold girl had to be cut free by firefighters when a people carrier was in collision with a car in Broomhill Park Road, Southborough,Tunbridge Wells, at 6pm on Wednesday.

She had suspected back or neck injuries and needed to be lifted clear on a longboard in a rescue operation lasting at least half-an-hour. She was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital, Tunbridge Wells, but her injuries proved less serious than at first thought.

A passenger in the car involved was given oxygen and treatment for shock.
