This X-ray shows the horrific injuries of a goose which was shot in the neck seven times with an air rifle.

It was one of three geese attacked outside the Inn on the Lake Hotel in Shorne on Saturday, October 22.

It was taken to Meopham Veterinary Surgery in Wrotham Road, Meopham, where it was put down because it was in too much pain.

RSPCA inspectors said another goose had gone missing since the attack and a third received grazes to the head. They also said a large pile of feathers had been discovered next to the lake.
