ROBBERS armed with guns threatened two security guards as they made a delivery at a Kent supermarket.

The raid happened at the Asda store at Crossways Boulevard, Greenhithe, near Dartford, at about 7.50am on Thursday.

Police say a Securitas van was parked at the back of the supermarket making a delivery to replenish the ATMs.

Two robbers threatened the guards with guns before running off with an amount of cash.

It is believed they may then have got into a vehicle. No one was injured during the incident.

Detectives say the two robbers appear to have been dropped off at a bus stop opposite the store by a white mini bus at around 7.30am. They were wearing dark clothing and high visibility vests, one of which is believed to have had ‘visitor’ written on the back.

The two men had with them a green bin bag and an extendable handle used for picking up rubbish. Both of them may have been wearing dark caps.

The offenders are believed to be white men. Both were carrying holdalls as they got off the mini bus.

Det Insp Ian Dampier said: “We believe the offenders were posing as garden workers, pretending to pick up rubbish from the area as they waited for the Securitas van.

"We am appealing for anyone who saw the mini bus drop the men off at the bus stop or who saw two men running away from the back of the Asda store after 7.50am to contact us."
