A FATHER-of-two was killed when the motorbike he was riding was in a head-on collision with a car.

Ken Jordinson's pillion passenger was said to be "incredibly lucky to be alive" after the crash on the Isle of Sheppey last Thursday evening.

Mr Jordinson, 50, from Minster, was pronounced dead at the scene. His pillion Beverley Auston, 51, also from Minster, suffered a fractured skull and two broken legs.

The smash happened on Lower Road, Brambledown, near Minster, opposite the boarded-up Elm Tree pub, at 10.40pm.

An elderly couple from Sittingbourne in the car, a blue Renault Clio, were not seriously injured.

Ms Auston's son Nick, 28, said: "She really is very lucky to be alive. She is now out of the high dependency unit and will be OK. She will remain in hospital for about eight weeks."

All are welcome to join Mr Jordinson's family at the funeral, which takes place at 10am on Monday at the Garden of England Crematorium, Bobbing and afterwards at the Co-op Club, St George's Avenue, Sheerness.
