Headteacher Markus Ryan said: “The school is deeply saddened by the news that two of our Year 11 pupils have died in a car accident. Our prayers and thoughts are with their families and friends.

“Amy and Georgina will be sadly missed by their fellow pupils and the rest of the school community."

Amy of Raeburn Road, Blackfen, and Georgina, from south east London, were passengers in a Peugeot 206 that collided with a bus in Charlton. The driver, 18-year-old Joe Wallis, was also killed.

Another pupil at Amy and Georgina's school was also injured in the crash.

Mr Ryan added: "We are praying for Chloe’s speedy recovery and hoping to see her well and back to school as soon as possible.

"We want to reassure our students and their parents that counselling support will be available for students at the start of the new term next week.”
