Nationwide Building Society’s recent announcement of a 1.2 per cent rise in house prices is no surprise to Greyfox Estate Agents which is reporting demand to buy is outstripping available properties for sale.
Steve O’Neill, managing director of the Medway-based estate agency, said: “House prices are rising because there are more potential buyers looking to buy while prices are lower and this demand, along with the reasonable price increase, could tempt potential sellers back into the market.
“This latest increase is by no means a certain indicator that prices are on an upward trend particularly as seasonal markets need to be considered. However, those looking to sell may be wise to take advantage of today’s increase.”
