EDF Energy Networks have apologised for the problem.

HUNDREDS of properties in Kent were left without power on Saturday as high winds caused a high volume of failures.

The worst affected areas were Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and Edenbridge, but there were problems across the whole county.

An EDF Energy Networks spokesman said engineers were working to restore the power as quickly as possible.

It was hoped most homes would be reconnected on Saturday but some may be without power until Sunday.

The spokesman added: "We apologise to all those customers who have been inconvenienced by this."

EDF have set up an emergency hotline for customers to call - 0800 085 5290.
