EAGER Isobel Austin could not wait until her parents reached Kent and Canterbury Hospital before she was born.

Charles Austin delivered the 9lb 3oz baby girl after wife Tamara collapsed on the lawn of their home, Lee Priory, Littlebourne, near Canterbury.

Their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter Paige watched anxiously from the car, where she had been put ready for the drive to hospital.

Mr Austin called an ambulance but drivers were unable to find the remote farmhouse quickly, and by the time one arrived Mrs Austin was cradling her newborn child.

Mrs Austin said: "Charles is very proud of himself, he's on cloud nine."
