POLICE investigating a report of a possible abduction in a Kent village have now confirmed that it was not a sinister incident but a student filming for a degree project.

The drama unfolded at around 4.15pm on March 29 when a witness reported that she had seen what she thought was a teenage girl being forced into a dark coloured car and driven off in Horseshoe Lane, Langley, near Maidstone.

Police carried out extensive enquiries and eventually managed to speak to a man who explained that he had been filming the made-up event for his degree.

Gianna Pollero, a Kent Police spokeswoman said: "We would like to remind anyone thinking of filming scenes such as these, to inform officers beforehand, to ensure there is no confusion over whether something which appears to be a serious incident, is real or otherwise. Mid Kent Police can be contacted on 01622 690055."
