Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish is confident that stand-in netminder David Jackson can handle the play-off pressure this weekend.

The Mos go into their quarter-final against the Cardiff Devils with Jackson (pictured) again playing in goal in place of the experienced Andy Moffatt, who has been sidelined for the last three matches by a knee injury.

But Mustangs shot-stopper Jackson has performed more than capably as Moffatt’s replacement, with Parrish saying: "There will be a bit of pressure on David this weekend because he has never played in the play-offs before but he has got the tools for the job and the right attitude.

"But we’ve got to make sure we look after him as much as he looks after us."

The Mos players had some time off over the Easter weekend and Parrish believes that will stand the squad in good stead as they prepare for a tiring double-header against the Devils this weekend.

They play the first leg in Cardiff tomorrow (Saturday) night and will then arrive home in the early hours of Sunday ahead of the second leg at the Silver Blades Ice Rink later in the day (5.15pm).

Parrish said: "It’s a tough weekend because it’s not like you are going just an hour up the road.

"You have got a five-hour journey back home after Saturday’s game, with the players probably not getting to bed until about 5am and then playing again at five in the afternoon. But we have coped with the same situation before and we’ll do it again."

The victors this weekend will meet league winners Chelmsford or Milton Keynes in the semi-finals.
