Welling boss Jamie Day will run the rule over seven trialists during Tuesday's prestigious friendly at home to Charlton.

The Wings started their pre-season games with a 3-1 success at Herne Bay on Saturday, with goals from James Lawson, Luis Cumbers and Tommy Whitnell.

Day used seven trialists in that game and will shuffle his pack again against the Addicks.

"We need to make a decision on the trialists after the Aveley game so they will get another chance," said Day.

"It should be a good game for us against Charlton, fitness wise and playing against quality players.

"I don't know if we will get as many spectators as in previous years but the more people the better for the club and in terms of finalising my budget."

Former Cardiff and Horsham defender Anthony Achempong will again get the chance to impress, along with ex-VCD and Maidstone full-back Kane Rice, Herne Bay's Darren Marsden and Dean Mason, who featured for Maidenhead last season having also been at AFC Wimbledon.

Aveley's former Blackburn youth winger Junior Dadson is also due to feature, along with Canadian keeper Lucas Ming and defender Justin Clayton, who has been with Southend.

Tickets for the Charlton match are available from the ground during office hours for supporters who wish to avoid the usual queues.
