Andy Hessenthaler could be boosted by much-needed reinforcements for the game with Dagenham on Monday.

Striker Jo Kuffour (pictured) and defender Simon King were both absent through injury on Friday but the pair could return for the all-or-nothing match at Priestfield.

Kuffour was unable to face his former club Bristol Rovers on Friday after receiving an injection to try and fix a worsening knee injury.

Gills boss Hessenthaler hopes the course of treatment has done the job.

He said: "Jo could come back into play. We will see how he is and there may be an opportunity for him to come back onto the bench to give us another option."

Gavin Tomlin (hamstring) remains out but Dennis Oli, Ashley Miller and Rowan Vine are all fighting to play alongside leading scorer Danny Kedwell.

Defensive options have been a big worry for Hessenthaler but he was relieved to see X-rays on King’s foot come back revealing no break.

The injury-plagued defender could now return imminently.
