Forget the dole queue: We might be entering a recession but there are still jobs up for grabs.

Council chiefs will be hosting a Jobs Fair for potential employees next month.

The event from 10am-3pm on Thursday, November 6 at The Brook Theatre, Chatham, will highlight the employment opportunities available at the council as well as its contractors, partners and local employers. Advice on police and prison service jobs will also be available.

The event is being run, in partnership with Jobcentreplus.

Cllr Jane Chitty, portfolio holder for strategic development and economic growth said: "We hope this fair will encourage economic growth in Medway, and highlight the exciting possibilities that come hand-in-hand with working in Medway."
