Kent opener Joe Denly was out first ball of the match as England beat South Africa by one run under the Duckworth / Lewis method in the first Twenty20 international in Johannesburg on Friday.
Denly was trapped lbw by Charl Langeveldt, but England went on to make 201-6.
South Africa reached 127-3 in reply after 13 overs before the rain came down and brought a premature end to the game.
Former Kent all-rounder Ryan McLaren was the best of the South African bowlers taking 3-34 from four overs.
