RIKKI SHEEHAN: one of the victims of the blaze

A TEENAGER accused of three manslaughter charges following a fire in Chatham High Street has had his case adjourned by Judge Warrick McKinnon until Friday, May 5.

A hearing will then be held at Maidstone Crown Court to decide whether Curtis Bushell, 18, of Balmoral Road, Gillingham, is fit to enter pleas to the charges.

Sam Benn, 21, of no fixed address, has pleaded guilty to the three counts and will be sentenced when Bushell’s case has been determined.

Rikki Sheehan, 27, her boyfriend Paul Arnold, 34, and two-year-old son Charlie all died in the fire at their flat above the Blaze restaurant on March 18 last year.

Benn has been remanded into police custody.
