We have officially had the hottest day of the year so far.

And Kent is the warmest place in the country, with Gravesend seeing the mercury top 25.8c.

The sizzling temperatures beat the previous year's best of 25.5C - notched up in Cambridge back on April 9.

It's expected to be a warm day

The Met Office says Kent will stay mild and turn humid tonight.

But the bright conditions are not likely to last, with rain expected tomorrow.

From Thursday onwards, temperatures look set to drop back down to the mid-teens.
