Kent's new overseas star Wayne Parnell has been named in South Africa's 15-man squad for the World Twenty20 Championships early next month.

The 19-year old all-rounder (pictured right) from Port Elizabeth will fly home on May 25 to join a training camp prior to the tournament.

He made an impressive debut against Essex at Chelmsford last week, taking 4-78 and hitting 69. The squad also includes another former Kent fast bowler Morne Morkel.

Parnell's departure coincides with the return of fellow countryman Ryan McLaren from IPL duty, while Kent will also lose skipper Rob Key, following his England call-up last week.

He could miss three championship matches and two Twenty 20 matches, depending on their involvement in the tournament, which starts on June 5 against Netherlands at Lord's.
