Kent coach Paul Farbrace has admitted the club have been handed a tough draw in the new-look ECB 40 League.

The draw for the new one-day competition saw 21 teams split into three groups.

Kent were placed in Group C, along with Hampshire, Durham, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire and Scotland.

Farbrace (pictured) said: "We are in a tough group, along with six other very good sides, but you would expect that.

"We certainly don’t have anything to fear as we have a very good one-day side.

"It’s a shame that we don’t have any real local derbies but you get that in the Twenty20 Cup."

The 18 first-class counties have been joined in the ECB 40 League by Scotland, the Netherlands and an ECB Recreational XI.

Teams play each other home and away in the group stage, with the group winners plus the best second-placed team qualifying for the semi-finals. The final takes place at Lord's on September 18.
