Kent are trying to sign Australian fast bowler Stuart Clark for a second time.

The county controversially tried to bring Clark to St Lawrence ahead of last summer's Ashes but were thwarted by visa problems.

However, they have now made moves to bring Clark in for the 2010 season as part of their bowling attack.

Coach Paul Farbrace said: “Stuart has always been our first choice, and has been from the moment I started in the job.

"He is a top quality bowler, fits what we are looking for, with a lot of experience.

"He will strengthen our bowling options, and will also help the younger guys on the staff.

"Simon Willis and I both know him personally, he is a dream to deal with, and signing him is a no-brainer."

Clark, 34, has previously had spells in county cricket with Hampshire and Middlesex.

He has openly admitted that his international days may be behind him after 24 Tests and 39 One-Day International appearances, but is keen to carry on playing for New South Wales, as well as having another spell in county cricket.
