Kent drew level on points with Warwickshire at the top of the CB40 Group C after a six-wicket victory in a day-night game at Edgbaston.

The Spitfires’ four-man seam attack stole the show after Rob Key won the toss and chose to bowl first on a grassy track.

Darren Stevens (pictured) followed his five-wicket haul in the win against Derbyshire on Sunday by claiming 4-25 as Warwickshire were bowled out for just 92 in 31 overs – their third-lowest one-day score on their home ground.

Azhar Mahmood and Mark Davies claimed two wickets apiece to reduce the hosts to 15-4.

Rikki Clarke, playing with a torn abdominal muscle, did his best to salvage the Bears innings with an unbeaten 36 off 66 balls but Stevens and Simon Cook (2-30) made the most of the conditions to put Spitfires firmly in control.

Openers Key and Sam Billings set Kent on their way to a Group C double over Warwickshire before Billings was caught at second slip off Chris Wright for 8.

Key (20) fell to Keith Barker and Stevens (7) and Sam Northeast (13) were victims of Darren Maddy as the visitors wobbled.

But Mahmood (20 not out) and Alex Blake (18 not out) shared an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 39 to see Kent home.
