Kent expect to name an unchanged squad for their Clydesdale Bank 40 match against Middlesex at Canterbury today (start 4.40pm).

Martin van Jaarsveld (pictured) will again skipper the side in the absence of the resting Rob Key.

Director of cricket Paul Farbrace explained: “Rob’s struggling a bit with a couple of injuries so we decided after the Surrey game that he would not play against The Netherlands or Middlesex. Hopefully he will be fit to play on Wednesday (in the championship game against Middlesex).”

Matt Coles, who was 12th man for Sunday’s four-wicket win over The Netherlands, is retained in the squad having played for the 2nd XI at Bristol on Monday, but loan signing David Balcombe remains sidelined by a hamstring problem.
