Kent County Cricket Club

Kent suffered a 121-run defeat in their latest LV= County Championship clash at home to Lancashire on Saturday.

Set 339 to win and resuming the final day on 84-2, Simon Cook was the last man to be dismissed just after lunch as Kent were bowled out for 217 in their second innings.

Kent were always struggling to make a successful run-chase as Tom Smith (3-44) and Glen Chapple (3-39) both struck twice to leave them 100-6.

Matt Coles (51) and James Tredwell (36) did offer some resistance with an eight wicket partnership of 72, but both fell to the spin of Gary Keedy (4-53).

Coles registered his maiden half century with six fours and a six in his 51, while Tredwell also hit five fours.

Kent remain third from bottom and deep in relegation trouble, only six points above Essex but with a game in hand.
