Kent's Charlotte Edwards had a weekend to remember as her England women’s side completed their tour of New Zealand unbeaten.

Edwards, pictured, plundered an impressive 70-ball century in Friday’s rain-affected second one day international in Lincoln, before finishing unbeaten on 137 from 88 balls. Her quick-fire ton came off the back of 84 in the first one day international at the same venue as England chased 234 for a five-wicket win.

The 32-year-old ranked the knock as her best-ever in an England shirt.

She said: "I’m chuffed, I don’t think I have ever played better than that. That’s the best I have timed the ball. I hit the ball cleanly and into the gaps.

"I liked the wicket in Lincoln. I scored 84 here in the first one-dayer and a hundred in a warm-up match earlier in the tour."

Clubmate Lydia Greenway also had a tour to remember, sharing in a 201-run third-wicket partnership with Sarah Taylor during Monday’s six-wicket win in the final game of the series. Greenway (84) struck six fours as Taylor’s unbeaten 109 completed a series whitewash in pursuit of 222.

Kent's Laura Marsh found runs hard to come by, but picked up figures of 1-35, 2-26 and 3-28 in the three games with the ball.

Successive 4-0 and 3-0 wins in the Twenty20 and one day international series in New Zealand mean England women now have a 14-match unbeaten run.
