PRETTY Kitty Isaacs is used to being complimented on her looks and slim size eight figure.

But she was thrilled and surprised when they took her through to the final 100 of 4,000 girls who entered a national modelling competition.

Kitty, of Barnet's Lane, Broad Oak, near Canterbury, entered the Ford Supermodel of the World competition through the Daily Mail's You magazine.

She attended the final at London's St Martin's Lane Hotel. Although she didn't get into the last 20, Kitty got a glimpse of the world of modelling and liked it.

She said: "It was quite scary. We had to strut up and down before the judges, which I had practised in my room. I felt quite confident doing that."

Kitty, a 16-year-old A-level student at St Edmund's School, Canterbury, added: "I was really proud to get into the last 100 because so many girls entered."

Kitty, who is taking theatre and film studies, business studies and English literature, says her first ambition is acting, but while she works on achieving that she is considering pursuing work as a model.

"Acting is my first choice but modelling would be good. I do get a lot of compliments, mainly from my mum's friends. My friends were really excited for me. I will be looking out for more competitions and perhaps getting a portfolio of pictures done."

Mum Karen was not surprised Kitty did well as her beauty has always attracted attention. She said: "Kitty is very pretty, people have complimented her on her looks since she was a little girl.

"She is about 5ft 9in and very slim, but she eats like three people. I'm so proud of her."
