The Garden of England will be showcased in all its glory on the small screen as KMTV prepares to broadcast a special programme dedicated to Kent's foodies.

Feeding the County: Kent Food and Drink Conference 2019 will be airing live from the University of Kent's Canterbury campus on Wednesday 1 May, and will feature experts from across Kent's culinary scene.

It will also have a 'highlights reel' of some of the year's Made in Kent features, a weekly segment in KMTV's Kent Tonight programme highlighting the county's tasty treats and delicious drinks.

"We'll also be getting insight from some of Kent's most innovative and ambitious producers.

"This is a half hour show, but with so much going on, you could easily fill a Ben Hur-length programme on the subject."

The conference, which will be organised by Produced in Kent and sponsored by HSBC, is in it's second year.

Keynote speakers include Ian Wright, Chief Executive of the Food and Drink Federation, and Thanet Earth Managing Director Des Kingsley.

Organisers say it will bring together experts and business leaders from the food and drink sector, both regionally and nationally, who will share their knowledge and insight in a bid to inspire and advise businesses.

It is estimated there are around 2,500 food and drink businesses in Kent, employing 17,000 workers.
