CHRIS LANGHAM: denied that he paid to view child abuse

JAILED Bafta-winning actor and writer Chris Langham is to appeal against the length of his 10-month sentence for downloading child pornography.

Papers seeking permission to appeal have been lodged with the Appeal Court.

If successful, the hearing will be fast tracked given the comparatively short time Langham, 58, from Golford, Cranbrook, has to serve. He is due to be released in the New Year.

Langham is currently in Elmley Prison, Isle of Sheppey, where he has allegedly been subjected to bullying from other inmates. He has always denied that he paid to view child abuse. At his trial, the court was told some of the images were at the worst level possible.
