Scrapping Universal Credit uplift and energy bill increases will push more people into poverty, say charities

With the end of the government's Universal Credit uplift, there are fears more people could be forced to reach out to food banks leading up to Christmas.

And an increase in energy prices from next month could also mean more people than ever will find themselves in fuel poverty.
