Lollipop lady "terrorised" by yobs

A lollipop lady has been forced to give up her duties after being forced out by missile-throwing yobs.

Janet Edwards has been helping pupils at St Margaret’s of Troy Town Primary School, in Rochester for the past 33 years.

But over the past nine months she has been the target of a series of attacks including being struck by marbles and having bolts fired at her with a catapult.

Janet decided last week she could no longer ensure the safety of the children or herself and is now on 'special leave.'

Head teacher, Jenny Faik said: “The safety of pupils while crossing the road, as well as the safety of lollipop lady herself, is of major concern to the school.

“I hope that this problem can be solved as quickly as possible, so that pupils can once again benefit from the safety of supervision while crossing the road.”
