Rush hour drivers faced delays of more than an hour after a crash on the A299 Thanet Way.

Two vehicles collided on the London-bound carriageway this afternoon, closing the road between the Shell petrol station and the start of the M2.

Police had managed to reopen one lane by 5pm but queues had already stretched back as far as Dargate.

It is not yet clear whether anyone was injured in the crash.
