Lorries in lay-bys targeted by thieves

THIEVES have been targeting lorries parked in lay-bys on the A2 while drivers take a rest.

In one incident, 56 pressure washers and steam cleaners worth £10,000 were taken from a vehicle parked at a lay-by at Harbledown, nest Canterbury.

In another, around £15,000 worth of alcohol was stolen from a lorry near Thanington, also near Canterbury.

Police say they are investigating whether the crimes are linked.
