TWO people escaped with minor injuries when their car and a caravan they were towing overturned into a ditch.

Police were called at 4.15pm on Tuesday to the scene of the crash on the northbound carriageway of the A21, Lamberhurst bypass.

The pair were initially trapped in the car but managed to get out without serious injuries.

The road was closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the incident, but was reopened before 6pm.
