POLICE have charged a man following a suspected firearms incident in a Kent town centre on Tuesday afternoon.

Armed officers were called to a flat at Rope Walk House in Margate High Street after reports of an incident involving two men.

David Broomhead, 53, of the High Street, Margate, is accused of using a firearm to cause fear or violence.

He is due to appear in court on Tuesday, May 23.
