A 35-year-old man is critically ill in hospital with a head injury following an incident at a Margate flat on Sunday.

Two Margate men, both aged 22, and a 17-year-old from Ramsgate remain in custody following their arrest on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Police were called by ambulance crews to an address in Gate Quays, Marine Gardens, Margate, at 8.35am.

The injured man was flown to a London hospital for an emergency operation on his brain.

His condition is described as critical but stable.
