Man dies after walking onto M20

A man was killed early today after he was hit by several vehicles on the M20.

It is believed the 25-year-old from the Maidstone area walked into the road near junction eight for Leeds Castle at about 12.30am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The motorway was closed in both directions between junctions eight and nine while police gathered evidence.

The coast-bound carriageway re-opened at 8.15am and the London-bound carriageway opened shortly after midday.
