Man dies in train tragedy

AN INQUEST is to be opened this week into the death of a middle-aged man struck by a train near West Malling.
The man, who was in his 50s and lived in the West Malling area, was struck by a Victoria to Ashford train at Ryarsh crossing.
The incident occurred at about 4pm on Friday. The man was confirmed dead at the scene.
Trains on the line were delayed for a time while the body was recovered. British Transport Police at Ashford say they do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
