Man gored by raging bull

A man has suffered serious chest and head injuries after being gored by a bull.

The man, 62, has not been named, but was injured after the bull attacked him in a field at an undisclosed Rochester farm.

After he was injured, paramedics were immediately called out to help the man at about 8.30am on Thursday, June 5.

The land ambulance crew felt the man needed to be air-lifted to a specialist hospital and called the Kent Air Ambulance for assistance.

The helicopter arrived on the scene at 8.45am and doctors on board decided they would anaesthetise the man and carry out a bilateral thoracotomy incision procedure on him at the scene.

It was suspected he had a punctured lungs.

When this had been completed, they then airlifted him to the Royal London Hospital’s trauma centre, for specialist care.

A spokesman for the Kent Air Ambulance, said: “I can confirm the man is still in hospital currently recovering from injuries to his chest.”
