Man hurt as car flips over in country lane near Meopham

A man is in hospital after his car flipped over near Meopham last night.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was driving a silver Peugeot 208 estate when he hit a bank and flipped over into the quiet country lane in Birling Hill.

Police were called at 10.50pm with paramedics and a fire crew from Thames-side station.

The man, believed to be from Medway, was resuscitated at the scene and taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.

He was due to go to King's College Hospital in London because of his injuries.

The road was closed at Holly Hill and White Horse Road while the vehicle was recovered. It was reopened at 3.30am.
