Police are appealing for witnesses after a man came off his bike in Ashford on Saturday afternoon.

The 40-year-old, who comes from the Greenwich area, is in a serious but stable condition in a London hospital, after he was found lying in the road in Brook at around 3.30pm.

It is believed he may have lost control of the bike as he came round a corner but officers would like to hear from anyone who saw him riding prior to the fall.

The man was riding a grey Cervelo bike and was wearing black and orange cycle clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Guy Miller at the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.
