Man killed by train at Teynham named as Whitstable resident Charles Jones

A man killed when he was hit by a train in Teynham has been named as Charles Simon Jones.

An inquest into the death of the 63-year-old, of Middle Wall, Whitstable, was opened and adjourned at Dover Magistrates' Court.

The cause of death was given as multiple injuries.

Police were called to Teynham railway station at 5pm on Wednesday, October 17.

Mr Jones, a single man, was declared dead at the scene.

The train involved was the 3.55pm St Pancras to Faversham fast service.
