Man killed in crash involving a lorry and a van on A21

A 25-year-old man died after the van he was driving collided with a stationary lorry on the A21 near Sevenoaks.

The crash happened on the south-bound carriageway between the A25 Chipstead flyover and Morleys roundabout at around 6.15am Thursday.

A police spokesman said a white VW Transporter crashed into the back of the lorry, which was broken down.

The van driver - a man from Southall, Middlesex - died at the scene. The coroner has been informed.

Firefighters were also called to the scene.

The road was closed until around 1.30pm while emergency services deal with the incident and initial investigations were carried out.
