A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after an accident on the M20 early today.

The accident happened on the London-bound carriageway between junction 4 at West Malling and junction 3 for the M26.

It is believed the man was clipped by a lorry or knocked over by the force of a passing lorry while he was changing a tyre on the hard shoulder just before the M26 junction.

Tailbacks stretched as far back as junction 7 at Maidstone while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
