Welling defender Steve King

Welling boss Jamie Day has released two players as he continues to re-shape his squad.

Day has let defender Steve King (pictured) and utility man Ryan Johnson depart Park View Road. Both players were on non-contract terms with the club.

King, who was signed by former Wings boss Andy Ford in August, has struggled with a knee and foot injury this season and has recently been on dual registration terms with Ryman League Concord Rangers.

The departure of Johnson will prove more of a surprise to Wings fans but with Andy Sambrook back in favour and Day having plenty of midfield options, he has been deemed surplus to requirements.

Welling entertain rivals Bromley on Boxing Day, kick-off 1pm.
