Manor owner leaves £4.5m in will

The co-owner of four-star luxury hotel Eastwell Manor has left more than £4.5m to relatives in her will.

Jackie Parrett, boss of the 3,000 acre estate, complete with 62-acre park, died peacefully at home in September after a long battle with cancer.

Together with her husband Turrloo, Mrs Parrett transformed Eastwell in Boughton Aluph into one of Kent’s top hotels.

She was known throughout the county for her life-long work with charities, including Demelza House children’s hospice and Macmillan Cancer Care.

Jackie, who lived at The Old Rectory, Rectory Lane, Brasted in Westerham, left behind her husband, three children Gary, Mark and Helenne, and was grandmother to Sean, George, Sophie, Oliver, Emma, Jasper and Merlin.

Also listed in wills notices was Lady Erika Harmer, of Stone Hill Road in Egerton near Ashford, who died on January 30, 2008, leaving an estate worth £1,324,399 gross to her relatives.

Claud Hamilton Jordan, of Bradbourne Vale Road in Sevenoaks, died on June 1, 2008. Mr Jordan left an estate worth £2,480,821 gross to relatives.
