A vital factor in Gillingham’s promotion success last season was the work done on the training ground by first team coach Mark Robson.

One year on from his first training session with the Gills, Robson is loving every moment of the experience.

He said: "Promotion last season made it a fantastic year. We’ve got a great bunch of lads and they are always prepared to work hard in training and listen to anything put to them.

"They take it on board and as long as you have that enthusiasm and willingness to want to learn and improve their game, then you always have a chance with players.

"Mark and Scott have been brilliant with me and on the coaching side, he (Stimson) lets me crack on with it which is brilliant. He will tell me what he wants and I will put that into practice."
